Officially opened on September 27, 2018, the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art is not only the largest contemporary art museum in Cyprus but also in the region, housing over 100,000 works of art. The museum boasts a rich collection of paintings, ceramics, and sculptures created by artists from 14 Turkic states, including Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Gagauzia, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Dagestan, the Altai Republic, and the Tuva Republic, showcasing works made on the island. To date, nearly 3,000 artists have contributed to the museum, which serves as a vibrant cultural center where Turkish heritage meets the global art scene. The museum regularly hosts art exhibitions, with the 468th exhibition set to open in December 2024.

The Cyprus Museum of Modern Art offers a wide range of artworks, including paintings and drawings created with acrylic, oil paint, spray paint, airbrush, mixed techniques, ink on silk, stained glass, printmaking, wood carving, marble and ceramic sculptures, clay modeling, plaster, fiber, and bronze sculptures, as well as handmade knife craftsmanship. At the museum entrance, there are acrylic handmade visuals depicting historical and cultural details of the Turkish states. Beyond exhibiting artworks, the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art integrates contemporary art into daily life through exhibitions, workshops, seminars, and art studios. By connecting the past, present, and future, the museum contributes to an important cultural heritage. Additionally, by providing a platform for local artists to present their works to a wider audience, it actively promotes the art of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at both the local and international levels.
